Joe Barros is a director, choreographer and the Producing Artistic Director of New York Theatre Barn, a non-profit theatre company in NYC dedicated to the development and advancement of new musicals.  NYC Credits include I Married Wyatt Earp with Heather Mac Rae (off-Broadway at 59E59 Theatres, Prospect Theatre Company/NY Theatre Barn), Hard Times (Innovative Theatre Award Nominee for Best Choreography, NY Times Critics’ Pick, @ The Cell), Boys Will Be Boys (NYMF), Barcode (FringeNYC, by the band Gladshot and Hair's James Rado), The Legend of Julie Taymor with Jennifer Barnhart (FringeNYC), Marie Christine (Columbia Stages @ 3LD), Normal starring Barbara Walsh (Transport Group), The Pigeon Boys (York Theatre Company), Reefer Madness, Side Show, and Little Shop of Horrors (The Gallery Players), and served as associate director and choreographer on a workshop of Ride (written by Bare's Damon Intrabartolo and Kenny Finkle). Regional and international credits include Fall in Love (Seoul, Korea), Falsettos, Guys and Dolls, and Hello, Dolly! (FIPAP), and served as associate director/associate choreographer (to Eric Schaeffer and Jodi Moccia) on Brother Russia at the Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. Film credits include "Mangus" with Jennifer Coolidge, Leslie Jordon, and Deborah Theaker and "Petunia" with Christine Lahti, Thora Birch, and Michael Urie.  Teaching credits include TVI Actors Studio, Westminster Conservatory (Rider University) San Francisco Arts Education Project, The Play Group Theatre, The Hartt School (University of Hartford), and more.  BFA: The Hartt School.  Member: Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.  Consulting: National Alliance for Musical Theatre's (NAMT) annual Festival of New Musicals where he was a consultant on the new musicals The Dogs of Pripyat, Bleeding Love, and The Boy Who Danced On Air.  Joe is the co-conceiver and director of the new musicals Small Town Story and Political Speeches.
